  • General Safety Warning
    Please use caution when using our products: Keep products out of your eyes and other sensitive areas If irritation occurs, discontinue use and seek medical attention if irritation continues Read ingredients carefully if you have allergies or sensitive skin Although some of our products are made with natural ingredients and may smell delicious, please DO NOT EAT Unless the product is specifically formulated for children and pets, please keep products out of the reach of small children and pets If using our products on your children, please supervise your children while the product is in use If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have other health conditions, please consult with your medical practitioner prior to using our products.
  • Are your products natural? Do you use synthetic ingredients or chemicals in your products?
    Our products are made with high quality ingredients sustainably and ethically sourced from the earth. However, at times we will use products that are not possible to source from the earth or are not safe enough to use, as not everything that is sourced from the earth is safe for use. In certain products, such as products that contain water, we will use preservatives at safe levels to keep the product from spoiling and potentially making you sick. All our ingredients are listed on the individual product pages and product packaging.
  • Are your products cruelty-free and environmentally friendly?
    All of our products are made with ingredients that are ethically and sustainably sourced. We strive to avoid ingredients that are harmful to or contribute to the destruction of our environment. Finally, none of our products are tested on animals (animal testing is banned in most parts of the world anyway), but they are tested on willing humans! Our products are also biodegradable, and their packaging can be reused or recycled and in some cases, the packaging itself is biodegradable.
  • How should I care for my handcrafted soap?
    Cold process soap lasts longer if kept out of water and dry between uses. So, after using it, make sure you allow your handmade soap to air dry by placing it on a drainable soap dish away from the direct shower stream. To make your soap last longer, you may also choose to cut your soap in half or into smaller pieces or use a washcloth, sponge, or a loofah instead of your hands when using the soap.
  • Are your soaps safe to use on pets?
    Our products are not formulated for use on animals. Unless we indicate the product is safe for animal use, please do not use our products on your pets.
  • Can I use your products if I have allergies?
    Please refer to the product ingredient list to see if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used. If you are allergic to an ingredient on the list, do not purchase/use the product. Some of our ingredients may be processed in the same processing plants as nuts, seeds, wheat, etc. and therefore may have come in contact with those items. Should you or your loved ones develop a rash, irritation, or other symptoms after using one of our products, discontinue use immediately and seek the opinion of a qualified medical professional.
  • How do I place an order online?
    Ordering is easy, convenient, and secure! Simply select your favourite items, add them to your shopping cart, and click "check out". Follow the check-out instructions and fill in all required shipping, billing, and payment information. Finally, confirm your order. A copy of the order confirmation will be sent to the email address you provide. If there are any questions about your order, we will contact you via email.
  • I noticed an error on my order when I received my order confirmation.
    If you find an error on your order confirmation, please notify us immediately via email by replying back from your order confirmation email. We usually begin processing orders the moment we receive them so it may already be too late to make changes on your order. However, we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
  • How do I change quantities or cancel an item in my order after I have submitted my order?
    When you send in your order, it can no longer be changed or cancelled from your online account by you. This is because we often immediately begin processing orders as they come, so it is important that you contact us by email if you require any changes to your order. Please be aware that changes or cancellations are subject to additional charges and note that once an order has begun processing or has shipped, the order is no longer editable.
  • What are my payment choices?
    We offer many payment choices. Orders can be paid for online by using PayPal or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). At this time, we are not accepting cheques or money orders. Please note that we will not ship your order until we receive payment from you.
  • When will my credit card be charged?
    Your credit card will be charged upon submitting your online order up to 24 hours after submitting your order.
  • What is your currency?
    All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). You may also select to view in one of the available currencies by changing the website currency. Simply click on the drop-down menu at the top left-hand side of the web page and select your desired currency. Please Note: If paying in a different currency, Botaneca processes all orders in CAD. While the content of your cart may be displayed in your desired currency, you will checkout using CAD at the most current exchange rate.
  • Do I have to pay sales taxes?
    If you live in Canada, the GST/HST rate for your province will be charged to your order.
  • I need a copy of my receipt/invoice.
    After placing your online order, you will receive an order confirmation email as well as an email containing your receipt/invoice. Alternately, you may log into your account to view your order and/or print the page for your records.
