Sodium Hyaluronate
INCI Name: Sodium Hyaluronate
Common name: Hyaluronic Acid (sodium salt form)
What it is
The sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a molecule the body produces naturally. In cosmetic formulations, sodium hyaluronate is produced through microbial fermentation, making it vegan-friendly. It has a smaller molecular size than hyaluronic acid, which allows it to penetrate slightly beyond the surface layer.
What it does in a formula
A powerful humectant that holds many times its weight in water. It helps maintain surface hydration, reduces the appearance of fine lines caused by dryness, and supports a smooth, plump skin texture.
Why Botaneca uses it
Included in may of our products including our toners, serums, and creams. Chosen for its established efficacy, gentle skin compatibility, and relevance to the brand's focus on mature skin concerns without making drug claims.
